  • Ainu are Proto-Mongoloid people like Native American Ameridians are. The only difference is Ainu developed superficial features like hairy body and white skin.

Margaret Sleeboom-Faulkner of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Sussex said Kanzō Umehara considered the Ainu and some Ryukyuans to have "preserved their proto-Mongoloid traits"[35] Proto-Mongoloid features can be found in most Amerindians (Indians), while East Asian Mongoloid features are an adaption to the "cold".

  • @Lerdesanpe

You throw terms around like "Proto-Mongoloid" without even giving at least a basic definition. The Jomon (type) ancestors in Ice age East Asia were a prototype for latter generations of Eurasians but they were Caucasoid.

  • Ainu and Andaman islanders (also early Out of Africa) share the Y chromosome marker D2.The Andaman islanders appear to be very similar to Black Africans. The humans of approximately 30 thousand years ago who lived near the glaciers in the north evolved a Caucasoid morphology.

  • @Lerdesanpe

Caucasoid morphology is much older than the Mongoloid morphology and 'Jomon' type (Caucasoid) people inhabited east Asia many thousands of years (around 30 thousand -such as the Upper cave male in China) before Mongolian looking people appeared (about 9 thousand years ago). The Ainu Y chromosome and mtDNA markers are very old predating by far European markers-and European and other Caucasoids evolved from this earlier 'Out of Africa' stock.

  • Obviously you don't undersyand genetics and anthropology.

Mark J. Hudson Professor of Anthropology at Nishikyushu University, Kanzaki, Saga, Japan, said Japan was settled by a "Proto-Mongoloid" population in the "Pleistocene" who became the "Jōmon" and their features can be seen in the "Ainu" and "Okinawan" people.[39] The Jomon share many physical characteristics with Caucasians, but Brace says that they are a separate genetic stock and have affinity with old mongoloid (Proto-Mongoloid).[40]

  • @Lerdesanpe

It is pointless to argue about this. Obviously unmixed Ainu are/were Caucasoid.Look at the video. Owsley and Chatters are reputable sources.

    Your argument is ridiculous.

  • @1776CaptainAmerica

WHOA..... you call such an outdated theory best evidence? it's not even an theory to be debated anymore. There is no genetic evidence to support it, and their skulls does not even match caucasoid ones. Their genetics are like those of Mongoloid, but their facial features are like those of Proto-Mongoloid. Saying Ainu is white is like trying o say Australian aborigines are black.

What you see in the Ainu is proto-mongoloid features not effected by the ice age.

  • @Lerdesanpe

The best evidence I've read is that they are a remnant of an early Caucasoid racial group. Dr. Doug Owsley and Dr. James chatters share this view.
