You must be remembering a 1984-86 'toon called Turbo Teen from Ruby-Spears. It and Jana of the Jungle (from 1979's Godzilla Power Hour) was shown on the old USA Cartoon Express on the longer weekend blocks rather than the Monday-Friday hourlong blocks as I remember.
Does ANYONE remember this USA Networ animation called Hot Rod (and no I'm not taling about the character from Transformers) this was about a guy who would become a red Hot rod car. I seem to be the only one on the face of this earth who even remembers it. It was on around the same time as Jungle Jane infact sometimes I think it would follow it.
Oh the memories come flooding back! I used to love this show as a kid. Watching it now, it's interesting to see the style of animation that was used in the US back then...the artwork seems a little crude with little or no fine detail...but still effective and with a charm all of it's own. I wish they would release the series on DVD.

This cartoon was broadcast in France too, around 1985, in a program entitled "Récré A2".

French never sounded sexier. Why isn't this and the 80's FF, Hulk Shazam & Spiderman/Amazing Friends on DVD??

*LOL* Same here! I think I was a little older than five...maybe I was around ten or so.
They just don't draw cartoon girls like they used to.
