I was always thought this song was about how Vietnam & the US in the early 70s. Then it took me a while to figure it out it was about the environment. Marvin Gaye was proably an early environmentalist for writing this song.

Wholeheartedly agreed. Hemp pulp is a much more resilient, tough, productive, and usable product than timber pulp. It makes sense to return to the use of hemp for our pulp and paper needs, even our clothing.

Unfortunately, the misconceptions of hemp and the useless laws against it continue to prohibit its larger commercial production.

Use hemp, save forests.
