Wild Raccoon found at the Dam

A two day journey that will be remembered for a lifetime by Kevin, Curtis, Alyssa, Kaeden, Cameron and myself...We show up at the local Dam. We started to get out of the car and were greeted by a baby raccoon. After playing with her for 2 hours the kids wanted to take her home. While there we gave her a name TAE TAE. **ASK HOW WE GOT HER NAME** We called the Vet, the park rangers, friends and family. The Vet gave us information on raccoons, the ranger wanted us to go back and get her then changed his mind and said she would be ok. The thing was she was a danger to herself. She was too tame to leave there. She could get run over; by wanting to be with people, after all when we went to leave she tried everything she could to get in the car with us including climbing up on the tire. She could be attacked or hurt by people or other animals. When we left her that night she cried and chased us down the road. The kids were worried so we went back the next day, got out of the car and after the kids hollered her name there she was. After a number of phone calls and big hearts of the children, we found her a home with a loving couple who already had a pet raccoon. Knowing a raccoon's bad habits and being animal lovers, they were thrilled to get her. Hope you enjoy the video. The end of the video is a small clip taken of the kids together posing for their pic to be taken, just to find out that I had accidentally recorded instead of snapped a picture. FUNNY!!

Hope you washed up good after touching that raccoon, They carry round worm, that is highly contagious to humans. Not to mention the other diseases they carry.

@HattieLovesCattie Thanks for being patient...we had hoped for a reunion, but Tae is better off without having human contact other than the people who feed her. I have uploaded a Part 2 video I made just today for you and others:) I hope you enjoy it. There are Never before seen Footage from the uniting of the kids and Tae along with some pictures from the people she was with over her first year or so.

this is wonderful,yes people drop off pet at the dam to often,but i think he found a much better home ,i also adopted a mother cat we found at the dam i still have her 6 years latter ,god bless you wonderful people,,,,,,,
