Charlie played this piece in an Oct recital. He definitely improved, despite fairly inconsistent practice last month. 2nd try. BTW piano6861 has an updated version of Charlie playing this piece in his solo recital at Avon Congregational Church.

  • Is this the sonata Charlie won the Steinway Scholarship competition with? I'm not surprised... If this is how well he played it in November, I can only imagine how much he could have improved!

  • Thanks & yes, it's this piece. But he stopped playing it after this performance until Feb. 2009, when he had to make a recording for the audition. Then stopped again until close to the competition. But yeah, he did improve, and tonight he did a wonderful job at the NJMTA High Honors recital on this piece.

  • Hi Charlie,

    You're a musical genius

  • Thanks Ben!

  • Spectacular performance! In spite of slacking off on the practice. LOL! We'll forgive you this time, Charlie, just don't ever stop. I still want those front row tickets for your first performance at Carnegie Hall. :-)

    Moosie

  • Hehe, a real performance? That'd be THE day. :)

But if any performance counts, Charlie already played in Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) back in May after winning AFAF. He'll play there again in Dec. (this time in Zankel Hall after winning the Cecilian).
