In this step, the worm bin has bedding and is ready for red worms to be added. Having a moist foundation of composting material such a peat moss and newspaper, along with organic waste, will help jump start the vermicomposting process.

  • If I were you I would drill small holes along the sides & bottom of the bin. hombrelupa is correct about the draining extra fluids bcoz I myself first started using plastic bin for my first vermi farm. Now I expanded my worm culture to 3 recycled bath tubs for more space & easy collection of worm tea( you don't have to drill holes on the tubs though)...

  • And you must have a drain on the on bottom of the containner to drain extra fluids.

  • That paper should have been damp.
