Ernest Borras is a true renaissance man.
He touches all parts of art and creative culture making a mark and at the same time make a statement that draws ones attention and interest. His technique in sculpture and plastic work is breathtaking, as well as his capacity to mould visual expression to meet his expressive needs. His music is directly linked to the power of the written word and every detail is bound to the text. This song cycle is written basically on text by Catalan poet Joan Vinyoli. The book "Llibre del Amic" (the friends book) is a prologue by the great Catalan writer Ramon Llull followed by 15 poems by Vinyoli and a postlude by Vinoli. Ernest set the prologue and postlude for three voice acapella;(soprano, mezzo and baritone) and the 15 poems are set; five for soprano, five for mezzo soprano and five for baritone. Then each poem has its corresponding painting, collage or artwork that visually expresses its meaning.
