wow, this is a nice improvement so far from when u posted u're 1st video! I like your vids cause i taught myself guitar, can play some piano by ear, play violin, used to play flute, taught myself clarinet, and want to take up mandolin! How much did the mandolin cost? Just wondering. What book r u using?

Thank you much! I have a Rogue mandolin that I bought off of Amazon for about $100. It was "cheap" but for a beginner like me, I think it sounds and feels fantastic. The book that I learned the Ash Grove from is called Folk and Country Waltzes for Mandolin. I learned the Hornpipe by ear and tabbed it out as I went along.

The book I used to learn the location of the notes was Teach Yourself to Play Mandolin. Other than that, I taught myself everything.
