  • Ok first of all I was in Antigua 7 months before this video was made and was in high school at the time and from what I can recall there was'nt anyone that I knew who could'nt afford school supplies like every other country not everyone that lives there are the same, and so too the regions of a country some people do a little bit better than others but everyone had almost the same resources I'm sorry that were not like the perfect country the US of A that makes billions of dollars by going

  • Continued:

I will have you know I am a product of Antigua's public education system and I am in NO WAY primitive! Though we may not have had the most advanced tools and resources Antigua's education system has produced very influential and successful leaders. Some of the very people who were "deprived" of the basics are the very people who end up teaching YOU!

  • I appreciate the genuine concern and interest these students had for the local students. But I echo the sentiments of previous comments when I say that the comments made are somewhat bias. Being an Antiguan myself I found some of the comments made offensive. The students are portrayed as primitive, lacking most if not all the resources necessary for learning.

  • Dear Skidmore, I'm not sure what the intention of the video was, but it was successful in being offensive to some persons (esp. Antiguan). If you were trying to help, we appreciate it, but that does not justify distorting the truth. (continues below)

  • We may not have the fanciest class rooms but we educate our students just like everyone else. Theere is no excuse for distorting the truth. If you were trying to help us, the truthful version would have done a great job too. Thanks for trying though. Racist comments are not cool ppl.

    Love.

  • I'm from Antigua, and i find this documentary very biased. I went to a public school there, and I don't remember ever lacking basic supplies such as books or pencils. Just because the island isn't as "advanced" as the USA, doesn't mean we're deprived of resources.

  • "It was scary" LOL "They were all colored" LMAO

  • OK this is not a true picture of the schools in Antigua. I'm a teacher and although we don't have the world of resources we get By.

This is not even cool ! This so not the case with every school here. Our students do better than most in the US... CRAP !!! thanks tho for painting our education system like that... We have no resources ( acc to you ) and we do way better than the students u guys have up there.

  • One of those was my primary school potters primary school" it aint that bad, limited resources yes but good enough for were I'm from. You will be surprised the amount of well privileged individuals who prefer our limited resource environment why just as I "said simple and nice" no confusion all u Antiguan abroad need to come home for some dokuna and salt fish once in a while

  • Antigua is like a paradise to us, you can find any other Caribbean national there. We love our simple life, we don't need your big life we love life small and simple. Why weren't there any Antiguans supporting your story love what your doing, but dawn man get it straight view both sides of your project next time.
