This is one of the earliest recordings of Fates Warning in 1983, a time when Maiden were untouchable. However, Fates Warning's material from 1985 - 1989 crapped on Maiden's from a mile high. As you follow their progression from "Buried Alive" to "Epitaph" to "The Sorceress" to "Anarchy Divine" to "Part of the Machine" you witness a true progression in music and songwriting.
Fates Warning will never be equalled.

its funny to see guyz say this cover is not close to iron maiden...they still dont get it tributes are tributes and nothing more..and its funnier that some ppl dont know this band cause they never heard it or they judge it from a random cover

@TOEFLESH are you insane? Fates is great , arch has two tones high and higher, but to say that they are better than Maiden is NUTS. Just ask the band hemselves

igmos its rehersal....how many others can tackle iron maiden for just for a warmup?...shows the tightness of the band. and not a bad rendition dont ya think ?

@HeavyMetalArmy80 Right you are sir, This destroys the original! Soundwise, it's pretty rough, but otherwise flawless! And as superb a studio vocalist Dickinson is, he just isn't quite as gifted as ARCH! Nothing MAIDEN or Dickinson ever did comes close to AWAKEN THE GUARDIAN, NO EXIT, or PERFECT SYMMETRY. IMO, both FATES vocalists shred all three singers MAIDEN has had put together! No, I don't want to get into WARNING era Geoff Tate. He's in his own extra-terrestrial omniverse!!
