  • convicts and mbuna don't mix...although convicts are hardy...very hardy...but convicts are american cichlids...mbuna are africans....mbuna need hard water and high ph to function at their best...this is not optimal for convicts...of course, I'm biased in favor of the africans....

  • Nice tank, it looks hard to set up.

    Check out mine.

  • mine did perfectly fine together, but I put the Mbuna (african) and the convict (american)cichlids in when they were really small-about an inch. They have grown up together.

  • Nice tank!!!Love the decor!!Beautiful cichlids!!I had convict females in the tank with my mbuna cichlids, and they did perfectly fine!!Love the tank and fish!!!

  • i have a breeding pair of convict cichlids and i have 3 mbuna. I want to put the mbuna with the convicts but idk if the will get along. If they can't, i have to sell the mbuna and i really don't want to though =/
