So like, was the magician a homicidal maniac that the girl was getting vengeance on for wanting to killer her through a magic act? Because thats what i got out of it. Tell me if I'm totally off.

that was awesome, yes the story left me wanting a bit more, but the animation was awesome, have you thought about mabye working for bullfrog? their ingame cutscenes are a lot like the animation i just saw, awesome, it would take me a around a year or more to make that, and even longer to render it
