Hi I'm Todd Co-founder of 1800Pools. We are excited to launch our video library of instructional videos that will help you with all aspects of owning your swimming pool. Starting with tips on how to close your swimming pool, we will continually be adding new videos on all avenues of swimming pool care.

Whether you are a new, or seasoned owner that has had their pool for 20 years, you will find great information on all the sections, procedures, steps, storage and handling of all products and services needed to maintain your pool. Learn valuable and informative tips on maintaining your pool, from people that have been in the pool industry for almost 40 years. These are tips and procedures that will save you time and money, while allowing you to spend more time enjoying your pool and less time taking car of it.

Part of our video series will be devoted to properly using your pool equipment. We will also be conducting reviews of many of the products that our customer buy and love. Letting you know the products that we have been recommending for many years and are the ones that we consider tried, true and tested.

Proper water chemistry is a must, and we will let you know what type of chemicals to use, their proper storage and how to keep your pool water crystal clear with minimal fuss. Showing you how all you chemicals interact with each other and what part they play in keeping you water sanitized and algae free. Clean and clear pool water is a breeze once you know all the basics.

Your pool pump, filter and heater need not be forgotten too. We have segments planned showing you how to keep your pool equipment at top forming condition. When it is time to replace or repair any of your swimming pool components, we can help you in the proper size and selection of anything that is needed. Exact size of your pool's pump, filter and heater are crucial to peak performance and efficiency Many people may think that bigger is better, but we will show you that is not the case.

Our absolute mission with our video library series is to help and teach you on how to easily take care of your swimming pool. We are all pool owners as we eat and breathe what we do. So from our long experience in the industry to our own personal experiences with our own pools, we will fill you in on everything that we know.

I have a Chlorine pool and Ive been told that once a year I should put salt in the sand filter to help reactivate the sand, is this true or are the pool shops just trying to get me to buy salt???

We have never heard of adding salt to a sand filter.. The pool shop must be trying to sell you salt?

What you can do is every 2-3 years you can take the top 4 inches of sand and replace it with new.. That is the only preventative maintenance we recommend..

Hi, thanks for commenting.. bigger is not better because you have to get the right volume and flow through your filter. To much or little flow, and it wont filter your water as effectively,
