After breaking a new 187cm rad-air tanker during a crash-landing in the terrain park, I decided to cut a custom shape, put on some epoxy, and get right back to riding.

  • Man, you must have launched! I find that the big boards are much easier to land since they have so much landing gear time coming down. Lucky she took the brunt of the impact for you!

How well did she hold up? All the boards I have cut over the years end up opening up and saturating the core with water.

    Cool video!

  • Thanks for the comment.

So far so good, but the epoxy on the back is already starting to crack -- a little too much carving, probably. Without constant maintenance I can easily imagine the board along the same fate as your 'experiments'. What cuts did you try?

  • Ouch ! Tankers rock. But nice board conversion !

    P.S. Sideways pirate eh ?

  • well, the first one in 88 turned a sims blade into a pipe board. i put a string in the center and got the just of a circular nose and tail. the old boards held together better. lots of swallowtails and roundtails. there is this magic glue called jb weld that seems to work better than epoxy since it bends a little. pretty nasty stuff to work with.

    peace man!

  • good job!

  • Awesome!
