Hey Youtubers,

This is my first Jazz recording. Recorded with my USA Jackson Soloist and Vox Tonelab directly into my Focusrite Saffire LE. Note: at some parts the audio and video may be out of sync. For those who are interested in the chord progression:

Cm7 // | Fm7 // | Dm7b5 | G7b9 | Cm7 | Ebm7 | Ab7 | Dbmaj7 // | Dm7b5 | G7b9 | Cm | Cmaj7

Please comment/rate!

Regards,

Divine

  • Cool stuff. I dont know a single Jazz scale lol

  • @1madaboutguitar Thanks mate! As a start: try playing major scales over major chords, dorian scales over minor chords and mixolydian scales over dominant chords. The next step is to experiment with 'out' notes to add some jazz flavour.

  • @88Divine Cheers man. I can improvise OK but my knowledge of ALL scales/modes are shit. I guess now is a good time to learn , especially for Jazz (unless you have the ear of god) Cheers dude 1 sec ago

  • @1madaboutguitar I hear ya, this is also something I stumbled/stumble upon. There is a good DVD out there which makes it easier to remind all the scales, arpeggios and their positions and to use them in a 'smart' way. Maybe you already know this DVD, if not check it out: Jimmy Bruno - No nonsense Jazz guitar. Cheers!

  • Great playing! 5*

Just curious, but why doesn't the headstock have the jackson logo on it?

  • Thanks! It has a Jackson logo on it, but it's a special gold logo. Therefore, due to the lightning is difficult to see the logo.
