...Something More... Chapter 14

I barely slept last night. Between the pill situation and what Kevin said to me I can't get a simple thought in for myself. I attempted to get up and have some breakfast. I went out to the kitchen and got some cereal. I heard a moan of pain coming from Kevin's room as he was walking out of it.
Kevin: uughh......morning
Marina: morning
Kevin: uh...sorry about last night
Marina: sorry about what
Kevin: Well to start with I said things I definitely didn't want you to hear coming out of me when I was drunk
There was silence out of me and I just sat there and ate my breakfast.
Marina: Look Kevin I'm flattered that you said that but....
Kevin: Oh god please don't give me that crap speech your about to....I don't want to hear how your in "love" with Nick. That's bull.....Did he say it back to you when you told him?
Marina: *silence*
Kevin: Yeah I didn't think so
Marina: Jeez Kevin you know exactly how to make me feel wonderful and then you can turn it around and make me feel at my worst. *walks to her room *
Kevin: yeah well ...that's what best friends are for...*hears door slams and whispers* ..........who ACTUALLY love you.
I got ready to go out. I needed to go to the store and take care of the problem I think I might have. I feel so alone right now. I walked up to the pharmacy counter and asked them for the morning after pill. As I was walking away I just shook my head wondering how I could have been so careless. I went back home to do what I needed to do. When I came around the corner to my apartment there was Nick about to knock on the door. I hid the bag behind my back and walked up to him.
Marina: Nick, what are you doing here
Nick: oh there you are I was trying to call you and ask you to come out with me today.
Marina: oh uh well can you give me a couple of minutes I need to go do something.
Nick: sure.......hey what's that behind your back
Marina: nothing why
Nick: well if its nothing than why don't you tell me what it is
Marina: Nick, please I'll be right out ok
As I was walking into the room Nick grabbed the bag out of my hand and looked into it and then back up at me.
Nick: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS
Marina: please Nick don't yell let's just talk inside
Nick: I thought you were on the pill
Marina: I am .....but...I forgot
Nick: you forgot .....how could you forget
Marina: Look Nick I'm taking care of it ok...please don't be mad
Nick: how can I not be......god how could you be so stupid
He shoved the bag back into my hand and stormed off. I walked back inside and I immediately started to cry. I wish I wasn't so weak. I took the first pill and sat down on the couch. I cried and cried till I fell asleep. It was hours before I came too and I felt a comforting hand brush across my cheek. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Kevin just looking at me.
Kevin: hey sleeping beauty
Marina: hi
Kevin: have you been crying
Marina: If I say yes your not gonna give me a lecture are you
Kevin: no, I'm enjoying how beautiful you are right now
Marina: Kevin, please I don't feel so beautiful right now
Kevin: I can change that for you
Marina: yeah right ...how
He looked at me with such passion I was frozen. He leaned forward and licked his lips right before his lips touched mine. His kiss was slow and inviting. This time I didn't feel like I wanted to pull away so much as I wanted more. He stopped and then just put his arms around me.
Marina: what was that for
Kevin: I can see that your down about something and I can't help but want to make you feel better.
Marina: well as much as I enjoyed that and probably shouldn't have...I wish it could've made me feel better.
Kevin: look.....let me get you a drink and then we can talk
He got up and I must have forgotten to put the bag in my room before I fell asleep and he saw it and looked inside and saw the box. He looked over at me and I thought he was gonna give me the same speech that Nick did. Instead he sat down next to me and took my hands and pulled me into his lap and held me.
Kevin: no matter what happens...everything will be fine
Marina: your not mad at me
Kevin: right now you need your friend.....I'll always be here for you
