We pulled our 8 year-old out of public school. That was the best decision we ever made. He's doing so much better. His self esteem is up. He's has stronger, closer friendships. It's not for everyone, but it's been a blessing for us.

Well you could ellaborate a little bit. You painted a broad picture but failed to give any reasoning. How were you raised by smart loving parents yet the worst thing they EVER did to you was homeschool you? How are you screwed over for life? How is getting good grades and seeming smart going to make you much worse off? I really am just curious.

homeschooling was created by parents who did not have positive experiences in social settings, and seek to shelter their children from all such experiences except for a select few. because homeschool parents are a self-selective group of people, (ones who did not learn to interact and relate to their peers) they can not take criticism. That is why all of their responses are classic ad hominem fallacies; attacking the person and not the argument. i was homeschooled and will never recover from it.

@adriettasee Thanks! Someone who actually knows what they're talking about when typing about homeschool. Now for my two cents, I have to say that sometimes the reason we seem awkward is because we pay attention to things that are important, rather than what the next big song will be or "who's dating who". Thats my experience at least, maybe it's different in other places. Don't take me wrong, I hang out with public-schoolers all the time and have nothing against them, just the system.

the school system failed to teach my children anything! the teachers were lazy no joke. everytime my child came home to do his homework he had no idea what to do or what it was about! when i complained to school board, the school ended up withdrawing my children! using the reason we were not in there district. i do not know how was that so. we lived on the next street. i felt like they gave up on my children. so i decided to home school them

I used to be homeschooled from k4 to 5th grade. I didn't really like it much. i mean being stuck in your house all day with the same people... it wasn't my thing. i started public school in 6th grade and i loved it, and i still do! I dont know why parents make school sound so bad, its alot of fun. plus you can get scholarships, and friends!
