Star Spangled 200 Conference 1 -
On June 25, 2009, the first of five planned regional Star Spangled 200 conferences was hosted by the Calvert Marine Museum. The meeting of 65 stakeholders and volunteer planners of the upcoming US War of 1812 Bicentennial celebration convened with lectures by historians, Dr. Ralph Eshelman and Don Shomette on the significance of southern Maryland battles and skirmishes during the War of 1812. The day long event included a field trip to Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum and to Serenity Farm in Benedict, MD.
