@DIMATIF hehe good one :D

fantastic

Great flying!

oh baby. Ive been on a few of those approaches here in SE. Scary!

What's really funny is that locals here in Unalaska / Dutch Harbor are on the floor laughing with your comments - this was a regularly scheduled flight out here for YEARS, and this isn't even one of the scarier landings.

@Borck103 and Air North, Yukon's Airline!

@luv2flyak I have the DVD that this is based on. I do not know Alaska well enough to contradict you, but in the DVD one Captain remarks that they stopped flying 737s to Dutch Harbour due to the load constraints imposed by the short runway there, so I rather think that this may not be filmed at Dutch Harbour.
It is an excellent DVD which I would recommend to all flying enthusiasts.

This is so cool! It is quite different to see an airliner touch down and not have the spoilers deploy... obviously they didn't want them for a touch and go!
So what airport did everyone decide this is? I want to go try it out on flightsim.
I'm a CFI with 1430 hours and have dreamed of being an Alaska Airlines pilot since I was 7 (I'm waiting for HorizonAir to call)!
FANTASTIC airmanship! 9088D, Leaving your crab into the wind at the end of the final turn is not a slipping turn! FAIL!

"touch N go" sounds like a pretty good quick masturbation product name xD

I might also draw your attention to the severely slipping turn on departure. Low and slow in a slipping turn, that's dangerous. Sorry guys, poor airmanship here. Think of it this way... an autopilot (computer) can fly the airplane far better than any human pilot ever could. Would an autopilot fly an approach, landing, and slipping turn like this? Of course not. The uneducated (about aviation) public often mistakes poorly executed approaches and landings for "good pilots."

Unfortunately for you, your theory is not a good one. This flight was filmed entirely for this video, there are no passengers onboard. They are showing the absolutely wonderful capabilities of a 737-200. It was not equiped with auto-pilot landing function therefore these pilots loved this plane because it was actual flying, not flying by technology. And Alaska's pilots are among the most highly trained in the industry because of the ever changing severe alaska weather.

Nice in theory. That was a bad landing resulting from a lousy, unstabilized approach. Poor airmanship. Richard L. Collins wrote, regarding good pilots, "passengers shouldn't even feel the sensations of flight." If the approach/landing looks "tricky" it's because the pilot flying is tense, nervous, and doing a poor job. A good approach and landing is easy, smooth, safe, and most of all stabilized. This flight attendant seems very nice, but clearly knows little about aeronautics and airmanship.

What she was stating was that the pilots are actually "flying" the airplane. They're not using auto-pilot landing. And if you live in Alaska, you would know about our rapidly changing weather and even on a beautiful clear day in Anchorage, the turbulence can be quite severe. I dont care how good you think a pilot might be, they cannot change the stability of the air around the aircraft. She was prasing that these pilots can fly through the worst conditions and still "pull right in" like its easy
