  • Ace at his VERY best!! SMOKIN'!!

  • I truly believe that this was one of KISS's best performances ever captured on video. Ace,specially, performs great: lead, voice, etc.....

This song is a transparent proof of Ace's talent. The 4 of them perform great in this concert. Too bad Ace was not at this level all the time.

  • This was the first live gig I ever went to, Sydney Show Ground, 1980. I was 12

I became a die hard fan and a muso after that !

thanks for putting this up, this is awesome.

  • Kiss fan here! I don't know if you people agree, but this song is one of their best songs, or should I say, one of Ace's best songs. That night, Ace does everything perfect on 2,000 man, Cold Gin, Talk to me and New york groove. His solo is great too. Ace had something special when writing lyrics and solos for all KISS songs. On this song, the solo is so catchy and NY Groovie. I'll watch this performance 2,000 times, drinking a Cold Gin, so don't Talk to me please :) He's not from this planet.

  • gene didnt play on this tour, his bass was recorded tracks being played over the speakers

  • @bretman44 I think you were right about it being an Ibanez. The headstock is just like an Iceman or PS10.

  • @jplitch Yep, you're absolutely right about that, after looking at the headstock, I should have known better, silly me! Steve Carr....why does that name sound familiar?

  • @bretman444 Um no. That an exploer style that was custom made for Ace by Steve Carr.

  • this is the only time ive seen ace without a les paul

  • @antsdick It's an Ibanez Destroyer that Ace is playing there. One of the very first in fact. Phil Collen of Def Leppard made that guitar fairly popular, and you can see it in a few Def Lep videos from Pyromania. Iron Maiden used them briefly as well on the Number Of The Beast tour. Pretty cool guitar. One of my buddies has one that looks just like the one Ace is playing in this vid.

  • I just relised why ACE isn't playing a Les Paul. This song has an open tuning. GREAT song

  • @rocsalt

The high voice is Paul's. Gene has a very big/high-low range, but Paul can sing much higher than Gene. Just listen to Paul's Falsetto singing on the Elder
