House Passes Measure to Bail Out Auto Industry

A $14 billion rescue package for the nation's imperiled auto industry sped to approval in the House Wednesday night, but the emergency bailout was still in jeopardy from Republicans who were setting out roadblocks in the Senate. (Dec. 10)

PS: no one is helping my business but me! No bailout dollars at my store yet I still have to pay absurd taxes, work with a skeleton crew, make the same money, 55+ hrs a week every week no exceptions. If I don't step up and sell/market/follow up, im S.O.L. if I dont spend funds or budget properly I'm gone. I mean what is so hard that the big three couldn't do it right the first time??

Remember,this bridge loan is only a bandaid on the problem,every other month into the next few years,more bridge loans will be asked and finally two companies will fail and one will merge for the people,The Greed from these corporate giants have finally came home to roost,the UNION are part of the problem also making at $70.00 plus an hour,remember folks, these people knew eventually,this will happen and take all the money you can before it lands on the laps of people,this is only the beginning.

This is just stupid. I live in metro-Detroit and I can tell you that the problem is NOT that they don't make enough money to function. It's that they mismanage their funds. The biggest proof is that Ford isn't even accepting any federal aid - because they don't NEED it. GM & Chrysler pay their workers and retirees over 50% more in benefits than other car companies do.

It's not hard to see why they may fail when they need three workers to pay one retiree's benefits.

Can someone please tell me why the government doesnt invest in the people instead???? Why doesnt the government invest the five billion to help subsidize citizens who cant afford a vehicle to purchase a north american vehicle. This way it boosts the demand for the vehicle while helping out the little guy!!
