BAPEX, the state-owned energy exploration firm of Bangladesh, started 2D Survey in kamta gas field after 19 years .They also would start oil and gas exploration works at seven untouched blocks from next winter to help ease the growing energy crisis,

The company under a fast-track programme would invest Tk 2.30 billion to explore hydrocarbon in the aforesaid gas blocks, situated in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions.
