Joseph Wright Centre, Derby - Time-lapse construction film

This is a time-lapse film I created using 21,680 screen grabs from a web cam that was pointed at the construction site of the Joseph Wright Centre.

Filmed over one year!

You can see just how much work goes into putting up a modern building like this. There is so much ground work to do on something like this.

The Joseph Wright Centre is situated on the corner of St Alkmunds Way and Chapel Street, the £12m facility is part of Derby College's estates plan following the merger of Mackworth, Broomfield and Wilmorton Colleges.

I hope you like this unique film following the construction of one of Derby's iconic modern structures. Personally I like this building and also the new Friar Gate Studios building on Ford Street.

The images were captured between 7th May 2004 and 10th May 2005 every 10 minutues between the hours of 8am and 7pm approx.

did you actually sit and take a screen grab every 10 minutes for a entire year?... or did you use a special programme or something?.. i personally prefer The QUAD Building to this one!..

@comedyhunter To be honest my fav is the way you capture Derby when no one is around, the buildings and everything looks completely different, i am born and raised in Derby and i have never seen it in the way you have showed me, so i appreciate your work more then you think :) (lmao @ Allestree park sledging) Thanks for your hard work.
