Hello Folks,
Majoris just released a new custom map for Insurgency beta 2.x named Ins_Parun. This first release candidate of this map is a firefight map composed of ins assets, some assets provided by Clan Germany and carries the distinctive touch from Majoris.

Hello everybody,
our latest patch has been sent to Valve to will be published within the next hours. As announced in previous threads, the major change in this patch is the ability to change stances while reloading. Here is the changelog in detail: * One can change stances again while reloading. Only jumping will interrupt reloading. Reloading during a jump is not possible. * cvar changes via rcon will show up now as chat text. This league related feature will show you the cvar you changed in real time with the new value followed by the old value in brackets. * Minor fixes and optimizations for vtf files in preparation for a follow up patch already in progress that will introduce optimal compressed weapon vtf files in order to improve performance on low-end machines. * Minor fixes related to reload animation issues. * New m1014 textures.
Since the update is both client and server related, server admins would have to trigger an update (in case the update automatism isn't turned on for your server)
See you on the servers!
This map is set on Srilanka, so it certainly has an exotic touch that will bring some fresh air for those of you who are tired of fighting in the Middle East, and offers a tropical atmosphere with misty waterfalls, overgrown temple ruins, and even a giant Buddha statue as the central landmark of a large temple compound.
This is definitely an eye catching map once you try it (screenshots don't do it justice), but by far the most attractive of its features is that it offers a good mix of verticality (multi-layered temples and a mountainous landscape), multiple strategic routes, sniper and long-range positions, close quarters assault and flanking opportunities in a textbook example of a good quality custom map that enhances the mod it's intended for, while offering players a chance to enjoy a completely different setting.
Srilanka is designed to be played by large teams. It's certainly not intended for small skirmishes but feels rather suited to large scale battles. On a full server, you can better experience the numerous tactical possibilities that it offers, and shows a clever use of the push game mode with destructible walls and other elements that allow your team to access certain areas. Some of those, like ladders, only appear after you have captured the previous objectives.
