The Guoliang tunnel is the most dangerous road tunnel in the whole world. The tunnel located in Henan province China is certainly a place to visit.

Q. Is this the most dangerous road in the world ?
Well many people who travel to Peru to visit the Bolivian road of Death, like to cycle along the narrow pass at breakneck speeds. Is this something I would recommend trying through the Guoliang road tunnel, the answer is 'no way'.

Goorney, thanks for this video! The wonder part of this tunnel is that it was totally made by local farmers' bare hands long time ago when China was very poor and lack modern machinery.

why is this tunnel considered to be dangerous by any measure? the cars are traveling at 6 KPH through a tunnel carved in solid rock, with a 1meter+ stone guardrail? what is so scary about that?

    There are 2 reasons -

    1. A number of people were killed constructing the tunnel.

    2. As you mentioned, people must drive slowly through the tunnel otherwise there is a high risk the driver might hit another vehicle/ person/ animal etc.

When I see such a video, I could really see the differences in mentality worldwide.

A swiss will never action his horn in a tunnel, because it's noisy and could damage your hearing. Generally, horn using is restricted to cases of emergency.

In China, they use the horn to say "hello" when they meet someone with a camera ! :p

I wish I would know more chinese ! Seem to be funny dudes !

since there are so many corners, which may not be visible for the people/drivers coming to the opposite direction, it makes sense to toot the car horns to alert the people or drivers that a car is coming. In many cases in China, people take car horns as alerting, rather than a rude warning. That is why you hear so much car horns. I really wish the drivers could be as polite as Japanese drivers, but it is still a long way to get rid of some improper habits. But anyway, it is getting better.
