I got turned onto Eddie in the early 60's and bought his 45 of this at 60th & mkt at Gold records. A big shout out to James Solomon ,who co-wrote this at 16 yrs old. We later met up when I attended Cheyney University. Great voice!

I saw Eddie live at Lowton Civic Hall a few years back. I was CONVINCED he was lip-synching due to the crystaline perfection of his voice. I was almost compelled to crawl backstage and look for the backing tapes. I finally realised that his voice quite simply is THAT good-even within the limited acoustics of LCH. A voice of an angel, if there ever was one...

i've been trying to find this song for some time , couldn't think of the title. but i got it now thanks for posting it
Growing up in the Philly area I was exposed to a lot of the Philly sound in the 60's & 70's & I always loved Eddie & was so happy for him in 1969 when he hit the big time. Fast-Forward 27 years & I worked with Eddie at an Insurance Company in Frazer, Pa. & the first time we talked I mentioned all his songs including this one.

I was 5 years old when this came out around Thanksgiving of 1965 & I fell in love with this song the first time that I heard it. 45 1/2 years later, it still has me under its spell. Especially those harmonies & the modulation at the fade are just ridiculous! Eddie, Mr. Weldon McDougal & The larks in the background did their thing for sure! Great memories of some very sweet days growing up in 1960s Brooklyn!
