  • Hi, I have just bought an NR-1009. I have a macbook pro, I can get it to see music and photos off my computer but I do no not know how to push music to the Onkyo from my macbook. Any help will be appreciated.

  • @MADDOX921 Hi, you will need to make sure that you are running a DLNA/UPnP server software on your device (Mac, iPhone, iPad, etc). While we cannot recommend any specific sofware, we did some quick tests with e.g. iMediaShare on iPhone/iPad which worked as expeced. Please also note that the TX-NR1009 does only support playback of music over network (e.g. no streaming of videos, or display of pictures).

  • Is there an A/B switch for the speakers?

  • @irispallida Hi, A/B configuration is supported (switch on front / left side)

  • HI, I am planning to buy TX-8050 to pair it with Bowers &Wilkins 685 speakers (2x100W x 8Ohm), would it be ok? Is there any other Onkyo networked model with 8 Ohm?

  • @soufieneTUN Hi, we just had a look at the specs at bowers-wilkins.co.uk/Speakers/Home_Audio/600_Series/685.html - they definitely look fine :) Regarding other models, the TX-8050 is currently the only network stereo receiver model. But you could e.g. combine separate components, like the network tuner T-4070 with an amplifier like A-9070 / A-9000R or even P3000R + M-5000R, if required (but then you might want to look for larger loudspeaker model, too).

  • Hi Peter, We test all of our amplifiers at 6ohm, but using 8ohms is no problem at all.Using 120W @ 8ohm speakers is fine realistically the amp will put out between 80-100w at an 8 ohm load, so happy days !

  • Hi, I have purchased Onkyo TX-8050 and would like to know the RMS at 8 ohm per channel. I am interested in the European specs of the amp at 8 ohm and not the FTC ones. Will it be safe to use 120 watt /8 ohm speakers with this receiver? Many thanks!
