Poncho Shelter In Flemish Forest

An example of a Poncho Shelter, a simple but effective lightweight alternative to carrying a tent with you. All you need is a poncho, rope and some trees. Well, I guess a knife too :D The night following construction, it rained, so trust me it is rain-proof. But i wouldn't use it if it was gonna storm tho.

@LANDnLIFE none actually, camping like this is pretty much forbidden, but if u follow the law, u might just sit home and watch tv instead

Nice little setup there. My only real question is how do you not lose track of where your camp is. When in the woods I like to keep a low profile but I'm always bothered by the idea of not being able to find the spot I made camp when in unfamiliar territory. I find the quest for privacy can really work against you if not careful.

indeed and i can vividly remember that time i brought a bottle of absinth with me in the forest and woke up with a hangover; without boots and had no idea where i was or where my camp and stuff was

and every tree looked exactly the same as every other tree

but by sheer luck i found it a lil later

almost had a real survival situation at hand :p

since then i've gotten a bit more careful :D

was heavy rain during the night, but i stayed dry and enjoyed the show :)
