@JumpinJesuits, I believe the connection pertains to the fact that Henry VIII called in old gold coins and diluted the gold content--debasing the currency. Henry VIII stole from his subjects to fill his perceptually empty treasury. It caused nasty inflation at the time until Elizabeth I restored the old gold parity. Henry VIII effectively counterfeited to benefit the state, not unlike what the FED's doing now. I could be wrong but I think that's the connection they're making.
