Walmart takes out life insurance on all their employees. If the checkout lady dies from cancer Walmart benefits to the tune of tens of thousands. They are the sole beneficiaries.
In UK it is Asda. False economy. The cheaper food is garbage and once you buy the premium range you can be in any other supermarket - in fact it is more expensive than Sainsburys. I throw out most of it. If you only buy what you would have bought BEFORE they opened how much do you save each year compared with how much is lost to the local economy in lost jobs? Take a look at the bigger picture if your small minds can manage it - please!
@EstimatedProphet No one is forced to work for poverty wages. Only supply and demand should determine the wage agreed upon by worker and employer. Business is not in the game to lose. Any outside intrustion into wages, like laws or labor unions, merely changes and/or postpones the results. There will always be someone, somewhere who needs work more than someone else; without a 1-world, socialist government in control. Socialism and control INCREASES poverty! The ONLY way to prosperity is profit
@unionkimpossible Did you ever consider that "no one can afford to buy" is terrible for business? A Ferringhi can't create profit if he has no one to sell to. Henry Ford knew this. I don't defend Wal-Mart. I attack the extortion by labor unions. (Yankee) unions have even muscled state governments to favor their crimes. It has taken a long time, but you can't evade economic truth. A man in Mynamar trying to feed his family trumps your American demand for a new car. What it is, is what it is.
There are many uses for music, and those of us who grew up to Pete Seeger and Paul Robson and Bob Dylan and all remember this is one very important use for it. AND, Sing along!
