I agree with you completely. If you notice that most of the people, if not all of them who seem to have anger towards Ricky Gervais are american. They undoubtedly don't understand his humour. They also seem to have some sort of loyalty towards Steve Carrell because he is american.
If Ricky Gervais read their comments I'm sure he would be devastated and have to wipe his eyes with the money he made from the American version of the office.
