When Sphepherd's Restaurant (Jerry Manalo) asked me if our band
would like to open for Bamboo and Gloc 9, my immediate response was
(F*** YEAH!) haha. Ever since high school i listened to these two artists.
And when ever they had a show i would always try to go see it
even if it ment driving 8 hours to another city. Almost everyday, i would listen to them and getting a chance to meet
them in person and open for them was a dream come true.
Me and my band (OTS) do covers the most when we do gigs, and going
through song after song looking for the right one to do for that night
was a little frustrating. We would practice that song then suddenly feel
like we have to change it cos it would not fit. I wanted to create a song that would match the Energy Francisco "Bamboo" Mañalac (Lead singer) and the Bands Alternative Rock Style, the Catchy Lyrics that Gloc 9 would do, and adding an Smooth OTS style in the mix. I wrote the song under 30 minutes, the band and i produced the music, that same night, adjusting sound levels, Compile cue sheets, and Mixing Instruments and Vocals. It was easy to write but even before the show we were still adjusting sound levels. The night before our performance i could'nt sleep. All i kept thinking about that the audience in that venue are going to hear our song for the first time, and usually it takes maybe a few times to listen to a song until you start appreciating the contents of it. And there's only a few artist who could create a song, a listener to hear it once and love it right then and there. Also maybe about 98% of them there have'nt herd our music before or even know who we are. But it turned out to be a great performance, the audience reaction to our song was more than what i expected.
