The RRoD - The Ring XBOX 360 Red Ring of Death Parody

This is a parody on the Xbox 360 console's infamous Red Ring of Death and the movie The Ring. It's the actual creepy videotape from the movie redone as a spoof using various clips from games on the 360 (Halo 3, FEAR, Viva Pinata & others) and some live footage I shot in 24fps using my Canon Vixia HF 10 HD camcorder. Post production compositing and special effects were done using After Effects. The entire project took quite bit of time to complete but it was fun experimenting with it.

I've had this idea for doing this video for sometime but finally got around doing it when my xbox 360 went dead. It was a launch day console and I was quite surprised it lasted as long as it did considering nearly everyone I knew who owned a 360 had to return theirs for repair due to RRoD.

It was perfect timing since Halloween was just around the corner before this film's release. Enjoy.
