In 2005, Monster's Chief Technology Officer, Brian Farrey, came up with the idea of a bobble head mascot for the division. He was named "Surge". Surge traveled to all the offices around the world. When Brian left Monster, Surge was laid off and currently occupies a landfill somewhere.

  • I was at Monster when this was done and it was every bit as stupid as it looks. Employees were universal in their dislike of man and mascot. Imagine a patronizing, know-nothing corporate douche wasting money on a Limp Bizkit-styled bobble head to somehow motivate "his guys" in tech. Screw this guy. He's no doubt gone on to another overpaid job where he reads CIO buzzword-filled magazines, makes crappy presentations and generally annoys the hell out of anyone who actually does real work.
