When does the film come out? This school is 10 minutes away from me.

Inspiring. To see african americans in Chicago achieve this at one institute with the full support they need and deserve, of course the impossible will happen.

I totally agree. "The whole purpose of education is to get rid of poverty". So true!

My husband went to this school when it was St. Mel Holy Ghost grade school and St. Mel H.S., graduating in 1965. He went on to attend St. Mary's University of Minnesota and graduated in 1969. He is still a proud Gold and Purple Knight! I even know about the St. Mel Knights marching to victory. Congratulations on doing things right.

Very good! Certainly no TRULY sane person [truly sane] can object to any project, school, idea or venture that is centered on the SALVATION of children through their nurturing and education.

What I hope would accompany that, though, is a sense of committment to SOCIETY, and not the single motive of "getting a job."

"When you graduate, you'll get a GOOD job!" What if there ARE no jobs? The commitment for JUSTICE should be taught. Fight, against the prison-industrial complex.
