Onboard the BDN S2 in the 750mc RGB race at Cadwell Park, June 2007.
This is only my second time running in the wet - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Starting on pole I got too much wheelspin, doh, and let Martin Brookes into the lead, which is a bad idea as he's pretty handy in wet. On the second lap a bolt came out of the side of my helmet which just happened to hold my visor on. This didn't exactly help my progress. I then had to decide which was better, to be able to see or to be able to steer. Eventually I worked out the bolt was still attached to the visor and I managed to screw it back in. Unfortunately my concentration couldn't stretch as far as controlling the car and screwing in a bolt at the same time and I lost a lot of time. Over the next couple of laps I caught back up with Brookes (setting the fastest lap in the process :p). We then had a little rubbing match where took turns to screw up and over cook it. Towards the end of the race the rain was coming down really hard again, making things very slippery. On the last lap I managed to get into the lead and won by a second, my first win :)
Great viewing - great driving. Well deserved win.
