Racists leaders of Cherokee Nation are attempting ot oust the Freedmen tribal members from the tribe after the Cherokee Court ruled Freedmen ARE citizens. It's a racist issue by our racist Chief Chad Smith and his racist council members.

@Sohaila95 we must forgive and forget the past is the past we should not hate another race becoz they desieved us they cannot help wat their ancestor did but us africans/african americans held sum of them as slaves aswell but we were trying to save our people freedom we had children toddlers babys of our own dieng and they did it to protect their own just like us :)

Btw, when dealing with fractions re: degrees of NDN blood, it's a random distribution. If your mother is half and your father is white, you're not necessarily 1/4 NDN.  Genes don't divide themselves mathmatically that way. Take a DNA test if you want to know your precise percentage of NDN blood. If that were required for tribal membership, there would be some very disappointed people indeed. But, as many have said, being NDN is sometimes more about what is in your spirit.

No Rainbows please. It was not the Cherokee Leaders, but the Cherokee people voted on this issue. It was a vote of choice and we chose. It is our right. Will there ever be a blood choice in the Nation? I don't think so. The Cherokee Nation true blood is so washed out you will never see the change. Most 1/2 or more are going Keetoowah.

I say spirit is more important than blood. A drop of Cherokee blood is all it takes for the spirit of the Cherokee people to merge with you! ½ would be very good for the US government if the people also went along with it.Did you know in the old days there was a chief that was 100% Anglo?(the Eastern band is very thankful to him if it was not for him they would have no land)Did you know John Ross the chief at the time of removal was 7/8 Scottish,but Cherokee by spirit and voted in by the people
