Chicago piano and vocal school American Music World is proud to announce our newest music instructor "Amanda Compton".
Amanda is an experienced teacher, having taught privately and for the UW-Madison Opera and Voice programs. Amanda has always loved teaching and strives to instill a passion for music in each of her students. Amanda is currently teaching piano and voice lessons at American Music World serving the Forest Park, Oak Park and surrounding area. She has played piano since she was very young, and is also an experienced singer and performer. Her favorite roles include Yum-Yum in The Mikado (Madison Savoyards), Mélisande in Pelleas et Mélisande (UW-Madison), and Rapunzel in Into the Woods (IWU). She has toured with Prairie Fire Theater in the cast of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, performed The Magic Flute with the Amalfi Coast Music Festival, was the featured soloist with the UW Little Big Band, originated the role of Lee Krasner in the premiere of Art and Desire (UW-Madison) in February 2009, and she performed with the American Institute of Music in Graz this past summer. Amanda just completed her M.M. in Vocal Performance with Professor James Doing at UW-Madison, and can currently be seen performing with the Chicago jazz band, Shout Section. Amanda is interested in working with students of all ages and backgrounds and looks forward to hearing from you!
