And so we begin our journey into the Columbia album set - #C-44 - entitled "Boogie Woogie" with side 1, "Boo-Woo" by Harry James and the Boogie Woogie Trio.

Just a bit quick, but the message still gets through well enough. ;)

so how did columbia pick up on the brunswick label & reissue it as their own? So, the set I have was issued when? I believe Columbia started the 'red label' in 1939. That doesn't necessarily mean that my Columbia Boogie Woogie 4 record set came out that year...just saying. Do you know when it was issued?

@ross2343 I believe this set was issued in 1940 - Brunswick and its catalog was owned by Columbia from 1932-1940 (only the Brunswick recordings from 1932-1940 were Columbia's property - the ownership changes of Brunswick from the 1920's-1940's were complicated, to say the least ;) ).

I have this same set...is it really 1939 production? I can't find the date anywhere on the box, sleeves, or records.
