I felt the different sounds did not come together quite as smoothly as the studio version I've come to love, although it gets better and better towards the end.
But the energy from every performer is tremendous!
And Mark King retains throughout that familiarly consistent voice and steady performance.
Pity the video skips several times throughout the song.

@D2Kprime True. I looked up the clip of Frankie Goes To Hollywood performing "Two Tribes on SNL a while back, and while is what great, It was missing something...

@CartoonsAndGameShows : This is one of the very few times a band playing live sounds as good if not better than the LP version.
-
@760dano I'm sorry, I meant sequencing with the keyboards, not sampling, too much 80's stuff tonite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL, Dano
-
@mikenned If you notice his hand on the fingerboard, there is more sound happening. In the 80's, the keyboard player had sampling going on in the background to fill the sound. A great thing back then. Many bands had no Bass players, Lalalalalalala, Dan

@onlyhumanafterall Actually it's a Jaydee bass
-
That's an Alembic bass, one of the best.
-
Who made that bass guitar!?
-
@CartoonsAndGameShows yep, that part is what I always remembered about the song when I was little until I finally heard it again years later
-
That's a complicated bassline he's playing while singing at the same time! Great song, reminds me of high school.
Wasn't E.G. Daily also in the same episode of SNL with Level 42?
