@dracainbloodly Then we fundamentally disagree on the purpose of these two pieces :D Some of Reich's music is chillout stuff (Music for 18) but these two pieces certainly aren't imo...so much rhythmic interest and 2x5 has drums and bass guitars spiking along with the keyboards.

@stephencraigen I must admit that´s true. But despite this fact I still like it more... Although the two pieces are very similar in some ways, they´re different in the same time (because the use of the instruments, of course).
In my view, comparing to Double Sextet, I find this piece much more light and fluent and it brings more relaxed mood.

@dracainbloodly The bass is almost non existant on the recording and it sounds terrible and dry, which has put many people off the piece. On principle I like Double Sextet because he uses the Pierrot ensemble very well, as opposed to here where at moments it can get a bit monochromatic.

I can´t understand how some people can say this is worse than Double Sextet...

Outstanding!!

great piece...I played it in Rome with PMCE at Auditorium Parco della Musica, world premiere with the two quintets live...! It's really amazing to be part of that..
