@rbneville Glass appears to absort most of it, and reflect a little bit as well. However, I don't believe it passes anything at this wavelength.

@magx1 actually glass is not completely transparent to co2 ir because i've seen lasers engrave on glass, and my laser will cut a acrylic sheet. Never tried water though.

I don't know. As you can tell from the clip, the output varies quite often. This is one of the differences between this homemade laser and one that is made in a factory. Please visit my channel and see my most recent video. My latest video shows a commercial laser, and in it, I describe some of the differences between the commercial laser and the homemade one.

I didn't pay for a laser. I payed for miscellaneous parts which were used to construct a laser.
