POP STAR AVRIL LAVIGNE HITS THE BIG SCREEN

Avril Lavigne will get her first shot at acting in the animated movie, Over The Hedge. The film hit theaters today, May 19, and fans can spot Lavigne as Heather, who has all the mannerisms of a typical teenager.

Lavigne was asked about playing an animated possum in the movies.

She talked about her first film experience after being in music most of her life.

Lavigne also appears in the new Richard Linklater film Fast Food Nation, which will be showcasing at this year's Cannes Festival. She also has been voted one of the 100 most beautiful people by People magazine.

@kyrieleison4 dude. Avril has, in her own way, ALWAYS been girly. Why do you think she was ever called the punk PRINCESS? she alternates AND combines girly and tomboyish. I mean look at the song "Girlfriend" it's completely both. It sounds more girly cheerleader-like kinda, and yet she has black hair and looks punk in it. Best damn thing? She actually DOES go the cheerleader route there! Does a damn good job at it, and yet manages to come across bad ass at the same time.
