I know it's still possible, it's just very rubbish with the chance to screw up being way higher now. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone since the Dhuum update.
What do you mean by "rather recommend spirit spamming"? To me? Or for the people watching this video? I might as well pull down the video than stick a big message in the video saying: "use this build it's better lol".

Armour: Full Radiant, Preferably change to Sentry when facing Smites.
Weapons: Axe/Sword with +5 Energy, 20% Longer Enchant, Stance Shield with -2 Damage in stance, +30hp or +45 in stance. Bring a high Energy Staff if extra energy is required and a Flatbow for luring.

I saw this on wiki and was wondering what else its good for..? when ive tried the build the aataxes always own me and I normally need another guy to kill them, how do you get past them?

You're not supposed to fight them - you run past them just like every farm build designed for Smite Crawlers.
