  • Those 5.0s really scream. My buddy just bought one right before winter. He has about the same mods as you only he has a BBR tune. I've got a Camaro SS myself with about the same mods only I've got Long tubes. We're gonna run em soon hopefully

  • @SirKowalski666 sorry, but you're sadly mistaken. You've added about 25whp that wouldn't actually exist from the spark plugs, throttle body and injectors. Also, I haven't seen anyone offer aftermarket cams for the v6 yet. Not saying they don't exist, just that. I haven't seen them. With pure bolt ons, (intake, exhaust, headers, tune, pulleys, etc.) you might crack 300whp. Or about 350hp at the crank. Cam gains would be dependent on what the stock cams are like and how aggressive you go. Bottom

  • @Milehighsnake98 Me and another guy were talking about what you could get from the Ford 3.7 v6 without boost or nitrous. First off, it's a screamer, revs to 7,000 rpm stock, so theres your rpms. Secondly, take that 260 whp and add high-lift camshafts (290whp ), headers/exhaust (310whp), 70+ lb injectors (320whp), throttle body (330whp), performance spark plugs (335whp), cold air intake / tune on e-85 and you're looking at 360+ whp. That's before cnc head porting or swap...

  • @Milehighsnake98 That's pretty expensive. For that much you could probably almost buy one of those new single turbo kits for the 335i that makes 700+hp easy.

  • @brandontoscano The cold air intake and tuner alone will be $750. Exhaust, headers, crossover is $1500+. And that's for about 350hp at the crank. Cams? $1500+ for 20-30hp. Ported heads? $1500-2000. That's nearly $5000 for 400-425 crank hp, if you can even hit that. Nitrous kit? $500. Power? 450hp at the crank.

  • @SirKowalski666 Dead wrong. You will need one of two things to hit 400whp on a V6.

    1. Race gas and very high compression and RPM's.

    2. Forced induction.

there's no third option with bolt-ons. All the bolt ons in the world only get that car (which makes about 255-260whp stock) to about 310whp. A set of cams (which I don't even know if they make yet, never looked) will be $1500+ for 30hp. Cheaper to just supercharge it.

  • @07ShelbyCS It doesn't work that way.

    1. A CAI requires a tune or the car won't run right. So TOTAL CAI + tune is 15-18rwhp.

    2. Injectors 0hp. Throttle body 0-1hp. The throttle body on modern cars are not a restriction.

    3. When you combine mods, the gains diminish. an exhaust can add 10rwhp by itself, or headers 15. the two together would only add 20. Just an example. Bottom line, you aren't getting 400whp from an N/A V6 without SERIOUS work.

  • This was a heavy sedan.

  • @brandontoscano That's what I think too about the 5.0, but I can't knock someone for getting the 3.7, it's got about the same power as the "old" 4.6 liter lol it's not exactly a slouch anymore.

  • @SirKowalski666 I cost definitely was a big part of my point. It looks like you would need quite a few mods though to get 400hp out of a 3.7. If price wasn't the point I COULD go out and build a 400hp V6 Honda Accord. Just saying.

But yeah in conclusion out of all of this, if someone is looking for a new mustang just get the 5.0.
