  • Great Catch!!!! Great Video!!!

  • It was a great catch! We were driving in our truck up the pass when we saw the head end of a UP train going the other direction. My dad saw the heritage engine on the front and we turned around and caught it several times.

  • Aaah, the Brooklyn Z. Very nice.

  • What is the Brooklyn Z?

  • up1996 on the point of the Z... expedited freight! Everyone takes the hole for them;sometimes even AMTRAC!

  • train consists mainly of trailers-on-flatcars (TOFC), and maybe some intermodal containers. It is very high priority, and goes to LATC, the intermodal yard down by Lincoln Heights/San Antonio Winery. Is visible from 5 freeway.

  • Z train, or intermodal, from Brooklyn yard in Portland, to Los Angeles.
