@6gording6 there is only one thought that all atheists have in common: there are no gods. that's why they are called atheists. even most buddhists are atheists because they don't have gods. how can you say they all think the same?
just start educating yourself instead of making claims without any reasoning behind them.

@avalsonline Buddism doesn't have a deity. Buddha was a prophet who meditated and brought them their ideals but he wasn't a god. Its still a religion.
Atheism believes that science and reason are the one true powers of the universe.
And no disrespect to Atheism but some Atheists are as arrogant and fanatical as some of the worst bible thumping christians.

we read the same books? sorry, havent picked up dawkins or harris recently. in order to have a religion, one must have a god. atheists by definition have none. eternal life? well, you take that on faith, which is almost as good as wishing it was so. for all you know you can simply be deluding yourself.

Actually many atheist do not think same ways or read the same books. Some like philosophy, while others read fiction, others like science and some hate reading. You also have many atheist who don't like dawkins and call him arrogant just like theist do. I do not want to convert you and I don't want to give a reward for doing so. Stay a christain if you would like to its fine with me. All I would like is for everyone to keep learning together and respecting one another.

it is neither a lifestyle or a religion. Someone who is an atheist can be a hedonist while the another atheist is a buddhist monk. Atheism does not tell you how to style your life.
