It's easier to teach students the slip first so they become confident and get the picture of what a stabilized approach is first. Once they get past their private, and work on their instrument/commercial THEN we start transferring into the crab, kick in the rudder once their more comfortable w/the plane.

I have encountered wind 300 at 19knots gusty 28knots when made a landing on runway 35 using C-152. All I can say is I am so lucky.

that was a pretty hard landing it sounded like the stall horn going off but i couldnt tell
thanks! :) Crosswind landings were the most difficult part of my flight training... Still don't fly solo in strong crosswind, despite the fact my instructor allowed 7 kts crosswind component for my solo flights.
