I've always felt that too, that inserting politics mars the purity of the feeling and mathematics of music. However, global problems have gotten so big - population, warming, violence, food shortages - that I think it's appropriate that we integrate action on these issues into our lifestyle, and art is an outpouring of lifestyle. That said, this video is pretty tacky. However, his performance on Echoes (NPR) was absolutely ethereal.
