  • KFM works, but it doesn't work for everything. It's not a universal truth, it's a specific response to a specific variable. Instead of criticizing it, go train in it. I did as a supplement to my combatives training and I am glad I did.

It's just another tool in your tool box.

  • Okay first go check out the other vids.

Now in your head imagine this scenario. You've been stopped by a gang of youths. You put up the fence and try to talk your way out of it but the other guy moves in and they all surround you and attack you as a group.

    STOP HAMMER TIME!.

Now tell me that what KFM teaches does not apply in that situation. Very close-quarters with constant blows to the head (Pensador) to force you down to the ground (level work) and very little room to maneuver (Pensataq).

  • @WalksWithNoFear

Very well said. That is why I've trained in so many different styles and why I started trainng in kfm.

  • Keysi FM is a good fighting method for when you have got inside someones guard, however, it will not work if you cannot get passed their guard, so in some ways it's bad :/

  • @tvrulesnation "hands on your head is used to surrender"

isn't the one aspect of this fighting style knowing how human instinct works in a fight. So putting hands on your head makes the opponent think that you are just trying to guard yourself from getting hurt, but actually you can deal devastating blows once they get close.

at least in ufc fights, when the other guy guards his head with both hands, all the techniques are thrown aside and massive pounding to the head begins.

  • @WalksWithNoFear what makes it anymore useful than the standard grappling/muy thai combination of martial arts?

  • I see some good stuff and many flaws in it but its not in the system its all in the practitioner, the system is only as good as the person who is using it.

  • This looks good. Lot of close combat elbows that definitely wil knock a bastard out cold. Good defence offence balance. I mainly think training this is a good way to strengthen your defences alongside grapple techniques since the combat they are featuring is mainly and mostly in-fighting. Do not forget the value of a well placed kick or punch from out-fighting. But learning this is definitely not a waste of time.

  • @WalksWithNoFear agreed. i think people are still stuck in a specific mind-frame, looking for a 1 time deal. just learn everything you can from anything. where one style lacks, another could be good at.

  • @ZASCA7 LOL high kick to the head what KM school did you train at?

  • @tvrulesnation I agree with your statement about Bruce and the JKD methodology. KM is different from a traditional MA, because it doesn't hold to any fixed way. In KM you are taught to do whatever it takes to survive, at my school rank just kinda denotes how long you have been training. You start getting all the tools you need from day one, a P1 at my school may of been training for years and know the same material a P4 does. We like the term Self Defense class

  • @tvrulesnation Hmm I kinda grapple as well, Judo, KM grappling, and some with Brazilian influence as well. Its all speculation till we see it happen. However there are some techniques used on the ground to guard someone from closing off your space while inside of guard which utilize the the elbow kinda like KFM. Also we are talking street fighting against multiple opponents. I can tell you from RL being struck while trying to hold guard messes up your game big time and elbows hurt alot !
